I know first hand info is the best, but have you looked at the Trail Run Project site or app? The ratings, pictures, descriptions and maps (which are actually really handy for way finding when all you have is a GPS signal) I've all found to be very helpful and consistent with my preferences.

I have been to that website and it is awesome but I was looking for word of mouth suggestions if possible or even a ST running buddy.

Good deal! I'm sure someone will be in touch, and have fun. Its the new running Mecca of North America. with all the camps, NAU success, NA elite, etc etc you'll probably have to book a "tee time" for a run!

Thoroughly Jealous! My girlfriend and I went to Sedona/Flagstaff after IMAZ and loved it. She wanted to uproot and move to Sedona!

We ran around the Bell Rock and the Courthouse Butte Loop Trail. I think the loop may have been around 5 miles, but there are more trails that connect or you could easily double it up for 10. It was beautiful, so you won't get bored with a second or third loop. I remember the trail being good. I am usually a little picky as I don't like it too technical or too hilly so I can keep a good pace going. That trail seemed to be quite good however It was the week post Ironman, so I might have been cool with some slower sections. Highly recommended.

We ran the West fork trail as well. Beautiful and still a good time, but probably wouldn't run it again. There were a lot of sandy sections that took away from that crisp running feel. It was also colder in there.

In Flagstaff I took Matt Lieto recommendation on an easy run at Buffalo Peak. It is a flat 2k-ish loop. Not nearly as interesting as Sedona, but got the job done. I think there are some longer trails that connect from there. For intervals or a dialed in temp, that place would be perfect! Matt also recommended we go to Macy's for coffee, and the place delivered. Great food, great atmosphere!

But really Sedona was awesome, I am guessing there is no shortage of great place to run. Watch the IMAX video on your computer to get you pumped and enjoy it!

Go to Sedona Running Company (in West Sedona on 89A next to Basha's grocery store}. Either Adam or Lindsey will be there, they are the best. They will probably send you over to Dry Creek rd. area for a nice route. Probably a good idea to get the updated Sedona Trails map. They sell 'em.
Flagstaff is going to be a challenge this weekend as they got a pretty good dump of snow the past couple days. And, it'll be 15 degrees colder up there.

Good question! I'll be in Sedona next week on vacation with the family. Would love to explore running trails, but I'm tapering for a marathon on the 25th, so will probably only do shorter runs near our condo, with Wednesday being my 'race sim' day.

Just did the Courthouse Bute and Bell Rock Loop this morning - about 5.5 miles round trip from our condo - kept it easy as I have a marathon on Sunday! Scenery is amazing!

You might try hitting up Greg McMillan (McMillan Running) on twitter. He lives in Flagstaff and is often in Sedona often. He’d be happy to direct you.
