Does the valve length work (51 mm), or do I need to buy something like a Michelin with 40 mm length?

Works just fine. I still use a crack pipe to inflate the tire.

Yes, it works fine. Shorter would be a little easier, but I have no problem pumping my tire and checking pressure with an Accu-Gage PR100BX pressure guage.

As the others said, it works just fine. I'm using a silca "crack pipe" to inflate mine.
