Terrorism Tax

Interesting concept and something that I will have to ponder further. A valid points: Kiddie porn is targeted by these companies and they don't seem to be doing much to limit radicalization online.

Now if some asshole wants to host terrorist crap on his own computer (making tracking easier) or facilitate secure communications for terrorists (making interception easier) that is one thing, but if a multi-national corporation wants to do the same thing they have to be prepared to suffer the consequences. Now I grant there are some civil liberty concerns but without seeing what help is requested and assuming regular civil liberty protections are applied, I don't see this as being a bad thing at all.

Bad idea.

Agreed, one mans terrorist is another's freedom fighter. It's also runs completely counter to the concept of free speech.

How is this counter to free speech?

I'm serious. I am a big defender of freedom of speech, I don't see how this infringes upon it, unless you want to go the derivative route. And you should talk, Canada's (and most of the Commonwealth to be fair) version of freedom is speech is a joke.

So you think it's okay for a bureaucrat to decide what's terrorism and what's not and then add a fee for what they deem in their view 'taxable'. Yeah, like nothing could ever possibly go wrong with that idea.

What would you know about Canada's charter? I'm guaranteed under the charter the right to freedom of expression.

That's not what is being proposed.

A fair amount actually relative to most Americans since I took a comparative law course that focused on Canada

Don't you think you're taking your obsession with Canada a little too far?
I only bring this upbecause I worry about you developing an acute case of CDS (Canada Derangement Syndrome)

I took the class a long time ago and personally focused on the securities laws in Canada. It's quite interesting and different than the US especially with regard to regulatory powers and enforcement.

What do Canadian securities law have to do with the charter in respect to freedom of speech?

Studied Canadian Legal System as a whole. I personally focused on the securities laws.

I'm pretty sure the bar he's referring to is 'not Cerveloguy'.

I think he, and other Trump supporters can't handle how overtly CerveloGuy is anti-Trump - but the anti-trump sentiment is wide-spread in Canada.

Honestly I wish we'd spend more time concentrating on things we have control over. Trump isn't one of them.

Talking about me? My issue is his overt anti-Americanism and hypocrisy vis a vis his alleged human rights/civil rights ideals and support of an oppressive regime. He has no defense and offers none. For the record I don't like Trump, nut he is not Hillary.
