Interesting. I guess the electric motor is a given...

I'm most interested in when the Roval tri spokes will be released. Look very much like the Pro tri spoke...

My comment is that I find it disappointing that a company in as difficult of financial situation as Tesla would waste any resources on this. I guess it looks cool though.

I'm trying to spot the lineage...

-US Olympic GT track bike frameshape
-Specialized shiv road bike colors
-Rafael uberbike concept mono fork front/back
-Cervelo px / Diamondback Andean bottom -bracket with storage compartment
-are the seat pod and handlebars from the specialised tandem concept?

I can tell from looking at the pic on the phone, but with no seatstay or chainstay in the drive side, how on earth is the rear derailure connected?

I think it looks kinda ugly, but I’d love to take it for a test ride

Good question!

I wonder why they went for seat stay instead of chainstay .... Vertical stiffness to prevent the rear wheel rubbing in the arch?

It's another in the long line of Specialized concept bikes (aka marketing). It's an impractical 1-off right now (note the unadjustable front end and the areo bar pads much lower than the brake hoods).

Some past examples:

Depression, Neurocognitive problems, Dementias (Testing and Evaluation), Trauma and PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Very cool concept. My only critique lies with the rear chain... uhhh.... seat stay? Why not have it be horizontal? Why not just have it be a huge slab of carbon extending from the BB/Seat tube?

Honestly, I'd love to see a bike like this made with a proper TT cockpit. I think the "lefty" approach and the shielded crank are the last two things we have to improve aero.

Having been to the Specialized HQ this spring, I can tell you this is just an unridable mock-up.

They allow the designers to build concept by bikes. I don’t know if tesla actually spent any money here.

This certainly has some potential for a real world design though

I've thought about it and one potential answer is that you could attach a hanger to the end of the axle. You'd just have to be sure to time the axle and the dropout correctly.

Hub braking will make single sided forks more likely. Not need for a crown as such if there’s one blade and no brake there.

Last time I looked they still hadn't released the disc wheel and that has been in use by the Pro riders for close to a year.

The release of another TriSpoke makes me wonder if this is the fastest front wheel design out there.

It's pretty rare you won't find the fastest time trial or grand tour riders not using them since lance and sky rode head wheels unbranded.

You’re forgetting about the two spoke! (Which I have and has replaced my enve as my default race wheel). These Roval look more awesome though, I’d probably get one.

If you zoom in on the photo, this looks to be the case.

The airflow between the tightly fitted long tail spoke and the long tail fork would be interesting

the fork crown - would it be better really close to the tire so air can't get under or should it be more open and direct airflow to the left side of the frame? Or should it be a bit wider to allow even flow on either side of the down tube...and also allow space for air to flow easily around the top of the fork when the spoke is lined up with it?

These aero concepts need front fairings like a motorbike.

Have they? I can't find any information that Tesla itself is directly affiliated with this bike despite the "branding." It could be someone's pet project and they either got permission for the branding. Or didn't get the permission.

Ya that was my thought as well, but I bet the angel and setback adjustment on the Felt is much easier :-)

It must have been one of specialized concept bikes stored in their us headquarter. The Coloring pattern and some specialized specific components are strong hints.

*Oops i did not notice that some guys already mentioned this haha

Stay home, stay healthy.
