Adrian Newey has published a book called "how to build a car"

As (one of) the greatest F1 designer of all time. Its a great book.

It's part technical explanation of engineering solutions to regulatory problems in making fast cars and part autobiography with lots of racing anecdotes.

He is - I think - a genius within his field.

The books excellent. Fascinating. Not to sit and read in one sitting but to graze

I've been a F1 fan and classic car buff for years but I'm sure today's race technology would go right over my head.

I have the imitation "workshop manual" for the Williams F1 car from the early 1990's when they were on the top of their game. A good friend of mine worked for Williams until retiring this year after thirty years with them. He visited us from the UK a couple of years ago and gave some fascinating insights into the the F1 world. He told me all about the good guy Williams drivers he knew and which ones were dorks. Also the son of one of my chiropractic patients lives in Italy and works for Ferrari F1 as an engineer with the electronics. Not bad for a kid who grew up in our little town pop. 1800. :-)
