I had one of those many years ago- we knew it as a Frog Eyed Sprite :-)

Without a doubt its an Austin-Healey Sprite Mk.1. Also called the "bug-eyed" or "frog-eyed" Sprite. They were 998 cc of pure fun. I had the later 1275cc Mk. IV version which was also re-badged as the MG Midget.
