Trump likes the ladies. I thought that was already established.

They say people tend to gravitate towards others of similar intelligence, so we shouldn't be surprised by this.

There is a clear a distinct pattern with Trump - with numbers that he quotes - he's never to be trusted! He routinely boosts and exaggerates numbers, to help either him look good, or promote a wrong-headed position he's trying to take.
He does this with benign stuff like crowd sizes, and more serious things like this - quoting wrong numbers and info about NAFTA.
Like most things, Trump probably sure that hard-core base supporters will not bother to look into things in more detail, and will take Trump verbatim (wrongly) on his word. And for the fact-checkers, well, they are all part of the Fake News media that Trump ironically, says can't be trusted!

The problem(?) with Trump is that he is so blatant about his exaggeration that it's easy to spot. Maybe, that's a good thing, maybe he's teaching people to question everything that falls out of politicians mouth but then again maybe not.
