Well Goring at least, IIRC Himmler offed himself long before he ever saw a court room.

He was 72 and looking at 20 years, so it was effectively a life sentence. What did he have to lose, really? And I think the court should be looking at its security if a convicted war criminal is able to obtain poison so easily and then take it.

This whole thing reminds me of Hermann Goering did at the Nuremberg trials. Though, fittingly for the electronic age, this fellow carried out his act live and in color.

Kind of like a Chinese menu, which you're handed upon conviction. One from Side A (20-year sentence) or one from Side B (draft of poison, to save us all the trouble). I like it! :-)
