Tom and Jerry Cocktail

Anyone have a good recipe?

Worth the effort?

Thinking of having it as one of this winter's signature cocktails.

I've never even heard of this drink, had to look it up. I guess I live under a holiday rock.

...recipes say to add Tom and Jerry batter...huh? Sounds kind of tasty though.

It's Olde Timey and I live under that rock with you but I came across it and since it sounds good thought I'd ask the wisdom here.

My parents made at least one batch of these every Christmas for a decade. As a kid I'd always try to sneak a few sips.
This thread reminds me that I need to get that recipe too.

I am young, and introduced them to my friends in college. A local grocery store made a great batter. Add your choice of dark booze, I like brandy.

Pactimo brand ambassador, ask me about promo codes

My dad made them at Holiday time and they are pretty tasty but they are labor intensive. It's a good drink to make as a team.

I ran across another drink I like better, Hot Buttered Rum out of I think Betty Crockers cook book.

I think I used ice cream instead of whip cream.

I guess billings Montana is out of the question then. We get it made for our liquor store from some old German family. Seriously, if you have a Local German community you may find it.

Just jumping in here but on the Chicago front we had this at the Brauhaus (sp?) in Lincoln Square a few years back. Safe bet Gene's (also Lincoln Square) is where they got it..worth a call.

Brauhaus just closed but I'll check out Gene's if I'm lazy. I'm not opposed to making the batter just want to make sure it is worth it

Yes, I've had brunch but usually the eggs are cooked before being ingested. Plus I don't drink milk. When I did drink milk, the thought of it being heated is enough to make me throw up in my mouth a little.
