IMAZ swim & stomach issues

Did anyone else do IMAZ and find themselves sick after the swim? MANY of my team members got very sick, from throwing up to gastric problems. Wondering if this was a common theme? Thinking the water got us all sick!

It's fairly commonly known that swimming in Tempe Town Lake can lead to stomach problems; it's a pretty disgusting body of water. Did you do the practice swim?

I always avoid the practice swim there.
No issues after the race however.

No pre race swim! Didn't want to experience the nasty water more than once!

I skipped the practice swim. Did the race and was not sick. Did not have any GI issues all day. I swallowed a little water once when someone kicked me in the head. But it was fine.

Maybe it was something else you all collectively ate/drank?

i had really bad stomach problems during the race. Also did the practice swim.
But my stomach trouble showed up at about mile 10 of the run and I think that it was just from being out of shape.
