What do you use to clean your glossy frame?
I have a brand new bike with a glossy finish. I'm curious what people use to clean their frames. I was planning to use the same soap that I use to wash my car and then apply the polymer sealant that you buy at the auto show to protect to paint job.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Its just paint like any other automotive paint. So, yes car wash soap and some liquid wax or similar will do fine. I've done traditional wax too, but that's a bit more work because of the harder to reach spots and inside contours. So, a one-step liquid is easier.

cheapo baby wipes - tough, the integrated liquid cuts through grease and sport drink residue, so easy to get a shiny clean bike and no drips so can clean my bike without moving it from its home in my lounge room ; )

I use dish soap as well, specifically Dawn. It cuts grease really well, if it's good enough to clean sea birds, it's good enough for my bike.

I don't buy any products specific for my bike. Cheap carwash or dish soap for the frame, Simple Green for the drive train. Old toothbrush and simple green even keeps white handlebar tape looking fresh with some elbow grease. Biggest key has always been cleaning regularly. Never had a single paint or any other issue.

I am obsessive at having my bikes shiny. I use regular car wash to wash the bike then Carnuba Wax to polish it. They look fantastic afterwards.

In general car cleaning products are good.

Also products are secondary to technique. Marring bike paint is very easy. Lots of good advice here which can be applied to bikes http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/...hing-and-drying.html

Normal bike wash, then wet wipes to get rid of anything else.

Then spray with Mr. Sheen. Leave for a little bit, wipe off.

Muc-Off pink spray for the wipe down between full washes (and following) and then I use their black can stuff that adds a nice wet shine to the frame. Just keep it away from brake pads/rims.

I try to keep my car clean and dish washing type soap, including grease cutting soaps like Dawn are known to be very bad for car finishes (plenty of Google articles about this). I wouldn't trust them on a bike frame either. A damp rag, a product like Simple Green bike cleaner and degreaser for the tough spots, followed up by a good auto spray wax works for my bike.
