Fit Question and Bike Choices

Got a Retul fit today on my specialized Shiv and am pretty happy with my position but wanted to get some community help to further understand the fit numbers. Also my wife has given me to go to purchase a new bike for my 30th Bday and was wondering which bikes I should aim for based on my fit.

The printout had listed my

Arm Pad Stack BB: 554 mm BB vertical to top of arm pad

Arm Pad Reach: 433 mm tip of saddle horiz to back of arm pad

Arm Pad Reach BB: 424 mm BB horiz to back of pad

Arm Pad Drop: -121 mm cen of saddle to arm pad top, —denotes pad lower

Saddle Height: 682 mm BB to center of saddle profile

I am currently as slammed as I can go on the bars using an alpha X and the slammed kit.

The fitter said I was lower than what he fits most people too but my back is still not really flat, i.e. about 2 in of room between the tail of my helmet and my back.

Really appreciate all yalls input and I can add more info or track it down as needed.

Thanks again.

From the numbers a solid fit. I'd guess you are 5'6" or so? 12cm of drop is certainly healthy, but (barely) fits the FIST predicted (professional triathlete) range using 79 degree of seat tube angle ( C = .005D2 -.185D ) +- 1.5cm It's a lot for an age grouper, but plenty run that much without issue.

Position would probably necessitate shorter than stock crank arm length... what are you running? It makes sense that your Shiv is maxed out on drop, as it is a somewhat taller bike. The Tririgs alpha's make it possible.

Off the top of my head, a Felt IA in 48 would work, so any P series in 48 should be good as well. Really, your pad x,y are likely achievable on any bike in that 48 range. If you can hit the drop on a Shiv, you can probably hit it on anything. Just be careful not to buy a size bigger, as that could kill your ability to hit that drop number (assuming it is a solid number)

Pictures or video would be needed to assess further.

So id like a little more info from your Retul fit, what was your hip flexor measurement? Your hamstring flexion measurement? Also based off Retul Zin what did your fitter come up with for effective seat tube angle?
