Cycling Canada recently did too - excluding UCI sanctioned events.

Wow, that is interesting. I use rim brakes for the road, but I find discs to be kinda handy on my MCX bike, but then I don't race cross.

Why/What do you hate about your brakes? Serious question.

There just always seems to be something with them. Last year my LBS had to replace the pads and rotor due to a contamination that they couldn't figure out - found out the hard way in the middle of a CX race when I tried to stop quickly only to discover that only my front brake was grabbing. Earlier this year my front brake always seemed to be rubbing a bit and I couldn't get it adjusted quite right. At the moment they are noisy AF.

I've never felt that they stop me any better than rim brakes but I also generally don't subject myself to the conditions that they would excel in (wet and mud) so I'm not the best judge there.

So basically I've seen no benefit to them and they've cost me money. :)
