Enve prototype disc or rebadged?

Ran across these photos today. Is this a Mavic wheel with an Enve sticker or a prototype of their rumored disc?

It looks like that well known top tester Mark Cavendish on-board so they must be having a laugh posting that picture.

Maybe Enve have realised after all this time that discs are faster and no one actually believes the BS their marketing department have been spreading.

ENVE 7.8 is already very fast, almost just as fast as a rear disc. Maybe their marketing department has a point to save you some weight and money?

Are you aware of ENVE's claims about disc wheels? It's really funny.

Didn't Simon Smart help design Enve's road wheels? And isn't Simon the owner/founder of drag2zero?

Yes and yes. Still not an ENVE disc.

The shape of the D2Z disc means it was designed for 10spd even though it has an 11spd hub. The rub is probably because the mechanics were too lazy to block of the granny cog.

Look at that scrape ring around the disc in the second photo!

I would guess the guy is losing more from the friction of the derailleur rubbing the disc than he's gaining from having a disc!

Since Mavic owns Enve and Mavic makes a disc, there's a bit of an incongruence...

What is that attached to the fork on the second pic? A speed sensor? It looks like it's just taped on

Almost certainly a timing chip provided by whatever race he is doing.
