From an Indian automaker. Mahindra. I thought they only made tractors and operated IT help desks in Mumbai. Apparently not! ;-)

I knew about Tata Motors (Jaguar), but what sort of rides do these folks make? Any good?

India carmaker Mahindra plans auto plant in Auburn Hills

"A Mumbai-based automaker says it will open the first new auto assembly plant in southeast Michigan in more than 25 years.

Indian automaker Mahindra Group plans to open a 150,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on Rex Boulevard in Auburn Hills. Details will be shared at a news conference at the plant Nov. 20. The company also recently opened a 250,000-square-foot warehouse in Pontiac."

They have lots of cars/small trucks in India. They are cheap there, both in terms of price and quality so big sellers there. Maybe the quality will be better if they build here but they're certainly not going to be challenging Toyota anytime soon...

Really? Just put a stake in the vampire's heart and end this madness. We need the USPS in 2017 like we need a replay of the 2016 election..

So they're the Indian version of Yugo? ;-)

All of the developing countries car manufacturers started somewhere.
In 1957, the Toyota Crown became the first Japanese car to be exported to the US.
Now I wonder what the Ford/GM/Chrysler execs were thinking that day?

Just another Yugo eh! (insert any other developing counties early effort)

the Indian manufacturers, trading under their own name and designs, will of course take some time to develop the product and quality that the west will be satisfied with, but then, the Japanese and Korean manufacturers will also be in the line of fire...
Same goes for when the Chinese brands get going.
