The XTERRA Maui descents are as difficult as you want to make them. They can be fast if you peddle, and there are water bars and some rocky bits. You can rail it if you want, but its one of those things where roadies will not be comfortable at speed.

I'd love to see the Ritz or XTERRA be able to cut some real trail into those empty fields.

That's great for Spirig, I suppose, if anyone actually works with her in the chase pack. But why would they? They're potentially dragging Gwen around as well, the only runner better than Spirig is...Gwen. And Ashleigh Gentle.

There would be as much motivation to work with Spirig in the chase as anyone would have to work with Duffy at the front I suppose.

I heard late last year that Specialized had at some point offered XTERRA a free bike course. Specialized would create, at its own expense, a purpose built XTERRA trail venue. Sounds pretty amazing.

I guess, if you're thinking of "descents" in the XTERRA world Maui is on the more technical side of the spectrum, but that's like being the funniest guy at Shenanigans.

teh Kona is tirathloning the best. Lucy Charles is tirathloning good!

Lots of people talking about Gwen racing next year like it is a sure thing. Is it? Has she made any official announcements?
