So, Apparently, the EU Parliament is Also Filled to the Brim With Harvey Weinsteins
Quote | Reply
An insular, protective-of-privilege bubble filled with Harvey-Weinstein-like sexual predators? In Europe? This is my shocked face. ;-)

"THE EUROPEAN Parliament has been accused of being a "hotbed of sexual harassment" after a string of MEPs accused politicians of inappropriate behaviour.

After the Harvey Weinstein scandal engulfed Hollywood last week, now politicians in Brussels say there is a problem at the heart of the European Union too.

More than a dozen women accused politicians of groping, stalking, harassment, and treating them like meat, a Sunday Times investigation revealed.

One assistant revealed that a senior MEP masturbated in front of a young assistant, and another aide told of how they were groped.

And one said how a leading German MEP "stalked her" in meetings and made repeated advances towards her.

She said that the parliament is "an absolute hotbed of harassment", because MEPs are "not accountable to anyone"."

EU parliament revealed as 'hotbed of sexual harassment' after women accuse politicians of indecent exposure, stalking and being 'treated like meat'

Seems all this foolishness in the EU Parliament may be pretty widespread, too. Politico Europe has so far turned up 87 women and six men who are willing to file formal complaints.

"Allegations made to Playbook include EU work contracts offered in exchange for sex, young women being sent to bars and dinners to trade sexual favors for legislative ones, a staffer asked to book prostitutes for their MEP boss, women bailed up in toilets at work functions, and men bullied, then sent on paid leave.

You can listen to some of the stories in the "Dear POLITICO" section of the EU confidential podcast (Episodes one to 12).

Jeanne Ponte, a prize-winning College of Europe student from France who became an assistant at the European Parliament for the center-left MEP Edouard Martin, told Le Figaro she has collected 50 instances of inappropriate behavior including "a political adviser who sent me in the middle of the night photos of me, taken without my knowledge.""

No wonder so many liberal women think that men are just a bunch of sexual predators, they surround themselves with liberal men.

I single out Weinstein and the like because of what they've done currently. Mr. O'Reilly is old news by now, wouldn't you say? But fine. Let's lump that right-wing pervert in with all the liberal perverts. That way, they can all have a really YUGE pervert convention chaired by... ;-)

You are talking about an organisation that has NEVER had its accounts signed off! Even their own auditors say irregularities are endemic and refuse to quantify.

Crooks and morally corrupt doesn't even scratch the surface.

Nice to know it's not just restricted to Hollywood and the U.S. Eh, an elite that expects us to abide by the rules that they themselves don't expect to have to abide by. What a surprise. ;-)

Want to know why Harvey Weinstein makes for such good scandal copy? This is why:

I don't think even the execrable Bill O'Reilly descended to such lows, as far as we know. ;-)

Wait, hold on. You're telling me that sometimes men with power and influence sometime use their position for sexual gain?

Nah, don't believe it. That never happens.

Next you'll probably try to convince us that sometimes women use their looks to gain money and power through marriage. Ha! Hahaha! Could you imagine?

Long Chile was a silly place.

Blasphemy. Those brave women simply make the best of their situation in a male-dominated world, after they are forced to marry disgusting sexual predators, and then forced to carry on multiple affairs with younger but still disgusting lawn and pool care professionals. They are made to attend lavish parties, wear designer clothes and expensive jewels, and socialize at exclusive clubs as nothing more than symbols of status for their male captors, all while they desperately try to free themselves, but alas,...to no avail. Shame on you for having so little sensitivity to their plight. Many of them are so depressed by their lack of control over their own sexual destinies, that they can do little more than lounge by the pool with alcohol to soothe their pain.

You should sit down, shut up, and listen and learn.

There was an interview on TV where the host - bearing in mind this was 30 years ago perhaps- asked this woman; "so what first attracted you to the millionaire paul daniels........"

Which was pretty funny.......
