My 2 cent opinion is that there was no evidence of collusion but discovery found communications of a politically incorrect nature that could embarrass the nfl. Rather than have this dragged through the court of public opinion the nfl settled.

Both sides save face as Kap is saved from being officially outed as not being colluded against and the nfl is not embarassed publicly.
