Very impressive ride! Let's see how those legs hold up on the run now.

This. Can't really seem to find any good Vo2Max data on the pros.. It only tells a part of the story, but still interesting to see what their levels are at.

It's cool and all until you remember what happened on the run. Pretty clear during the last few miles that he overbiked.

Just curious...the bike course lists a total elevation of 5k and change...but Sander's TP data shows 8k and change...why the variation?

He over ran not over biked, he was at 2:37 pace 8-9 nine miles in, he won't make that mistake again. He ran a 2:51 I believe. I'm guessing he could have ran a 2:47 or less if he started off more conservative.

I think we can all agree that he overcooked the early miles of the run.

However, he was suffering early on.

I haven't seen any videos of him running on a treadmill, but I can't imagine he looks that lopsided all of the time. That's tough to watch.

You think he would have won if he biked slower?

He might have overrun in the beginning.
But the fi al surge from frodeno group amd back to kienle might have bee the worst part!
He said in the interview he got scared in the crosswind, so fix that ride more steady to t2 start at ok pace on the run amd we ha e a æossible winner!

I think he mau have had a better overall time if he didnt push the bike quite as hard, although I think he could have had a similar split off fewer watts if he'd just tuck his knees in more. Honestly I just don't think yesterday was his day and I respect him for the race he ran. Second place at kona is huge, both in terms of the improvements he has made and in general. I'm just getting sick of how slowtwitch has become a LS circle jerk and was trying to poke and see how his fanboys would react.
