Very sorry to hear that and glad he is OK.

Seen threads like this in years past and typically one of the brands on site (kona) will jump in and likely provide a better bike than the Op had originally.

Just tell him to sit tight for a day or two...someone will respond.

Go by the expo tomorrow and ask some of the bike brands if they can help. Cervelo has been extremely helpful in the past.

I know that QR will have bikes as well as others based on what the guys at TriBikeTransport said yesterday.

Yes, I would say check out QR. They let someone borrow a bike for IM Chattanooga after hers got stolen before the race. Not sure what they have on the Island, tho.

if this opportunity arises i hope your friend jumps on it. yes, riding a new bike for 112 miles will have a challenge or two. but it's a bike that allows him to race, and a fabulous one. i test rode 2 sizes of ventum bikes last year in kona (and ended up buying/ordering one) and right a first i thought: gee---this really fits me and i bet i could ride it here if something happened to my (current) bike. and my own has ended up being very comfortable for me in races, so i'm pretty happy with it.
