I have a cheap hair clippers and trimmers...they both appear to be on their last legs. Wanting to buy a good clipper and guards, and trimmer. Oster appears to the be king of clippers, but there are so many models it is confusing. Anyone have luck with a particular manufacturer/model?

Are you just buzzing your head or are trying to be "stylish"?

Buzzing....I am 48...between getting old and losing my hair, "style" is a thing of the past. I guess you could call my current style, aerodynamic.

I've used a basic Wahl plug-in hair clipper for about 10 years and it works fine.

Don't over think it.

I've been using the Wahl Super Taper 2 (just over $50 on Amazon) for 5-6 years and really like it...much smoother and sharper than the cheap one I was using previously.

+1 for the Wahl super taper. Been using it weekly for about 15 years. It's what most hair salons use, that's good enough for me.
