Prosecutors Seek to Hand Weiner a Stiff Sentence
Quote | Reply
Looks like the feds are asking that disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner (NY) be sent to federal PMITA prison for at least two years, which ought to stop the skeezy serial sexter from engaging in extended bouts of onanistic pleasure for some time, given he'll probably be very busy fending off the unwanted attentions of Big Bubba and the rest of the gang. ;-)

According to the feds, Weiner's latest bout of sexting (for which he was quickly busted and which also inadvertently spilled over onto the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign, as a laptop belonging to Clinton's longtime amanuensis and Weiner's spouse, Huma Abedin, was once thought to contain evidence related to the sexting) definitely involved a minor. The feds maintain that Mr. Huma Abedin did, in fact, know the girl -- with whom he engaged in Skype chat sessions for a time -- to be a minor of only 15 years of age:

"Legal papers filed ahead of Weiner’s sentencing next week say the serial sexter took part in three video chat sessions via Skype during which the girl "made clear that she was not just a minor -- she was, in fact, only 15 years old."

"That did not stop Weiner," the feds wrote."

All kidding aside, if allegations of Weiner's conduct are true, and it looks like they are, the man has turned out to be a kind of sexual predator. The girl -- and that's what she was, a GIRL -- was only 15. That's just wrong, wrong, wrong.

Yup. It'll be the climax to a prematurely ended career.

Maybe they should erect a statue in his honour.

Much more importantly, does anyone else think that Huma Abedin is kinda hot? A less glamorous, and hence more appealing, version of Amal Alamuddin.

Creep factor of 10, as regards Monsieur Weiner. And apparently, from other news sources, the girl DID comply with Carlos Dangers' request to undress during one Skype session. This guy is totally whacked.

I don't know what it is about her, because her look isn't what I typically gravitate toward, but she does have a certain and high level of attractiveness.

I dunno. My guess is that any drive to do so would have to be ramrodded past some pretty stiff resistance, which would of course soften support over the long run. The ins and outs of such a process could be quite prickly, given the nature of Weiner's shortcomings.

Sorry, but I feel kinda bad for the guy. He's ruined his life over a very cheap virtual thrill.
Obviously an addiction and self-destructive behavior. #Sad!

Not her best pic - she looks like the star of Tim Burton's latest film, 'The Corpse Candidate'

Something about the words "hand" weiner" and "stiff" in your subject line made me a bit worried for a moment. :-)

I agree that it's sad in certain ways for sure. He ruined his life after numerous previous chances to straighten up and fly right. It's a stunning fall from grace for a man who obviously at one time harbored a not-unreasonable belief -- given his political stature and place within the Democratic Party -- that he might one day run for president himself. And not as 'Carlos Danger' (one of his old Twitter-based sexting handles) but as Anthony Weiner.

Politics and the sex monster. It's not the first time (and won't be the last) that this potent combination has taken down someone of power and renown.

Not quite up there with "Headless man found in topless bar," but a good headline nonetheless. ;-)

The only saving grace of this time was that, according to Weiner, the 15 year old girl set him up so she wasn't in any real danger. So Carlos Danger was outsmarted by a 15 year old girl.

But how many other times has he done this and more with young girls that he hasn't been caught? He's lucky 3 strikes laws have fallen out of favor because there is no way he can stop himself from doing it again. He needs to go live in a cabin in the woods with no neighbors, cell coverage, internet access and a dome to keep out satellite signals.

I'm beginning to think that we are much more fucked than I thought.

Yeah, he's made a mess of things, that's for sure. I read in "Shattered," that new book about Hillary's presidential campaign, that Mrs. Weiner, Huma Abedin, really wasn't doing Hillary any favors by sticking around -- given the spillover from Weiner's sexcapades -- but that Clinton, to her credit, remained steadfastly loyal to her aide right up until she couldn't do anything else but distance her from the campaign.

If you think about it, Weiner may have helped contribute to Hillary's loss, all because he couldn't quit sexting young women and girls. It's crazy.

Weiner went flaccid at the thought of two years in the hole, that's for sure.

Did not know that.. so if an underage female flashes you online of her OWN volition... you're guilty?

As far as "how many other times has this happened", I'd be willing to bet 'zero'.
Probably not too many underage girls out there dying to flash middle-age dudes who post 'morning boner' selfies while laying in bed with their infant sons.

It may be unfair in some isolated instances, but the law generally lays down a pretty clear and bright dividing line when it comes to teens and informed consent. In the eyes of the law, the girl at 15-years-old is unable to actually do these sorts of things (flashing a middle-aged adult male online via Skype -- and leaving aside how incredibly STUPID it is to do any of that stuff over Skype, which is completely unsecure) of her own volition, because she's in fact 15 years old.

So Weiner hung himself right there, as far as the law is concerned.
