Non cycling vacation ideas

The wife and I had to cancel our cycling vacation to Spain due to a cycling accident in which I suffered a broken neck a few weeks prior to our planned departure. Recovery is going fine and we now want to plan a new, more subdued trip. We are thinking of renting an "Escape Campervan" and do some sightseeing and hiking. We aren't campers but we want to try the CamperVan version of camping for something different. So, we are thinking of flying into Denver or Las Vegas or Seattle or San Francisco and then renting and driving from there.

Time frame is 4 or 5 days of fun plus a couple travel days.
Middle to the end of October.

I've spent a lot of time in Boulder and visited Rocky Mountain National Park a few times but I've never been west of Boulder/Denver. I was thinking there is more to see in Colorado.

We've been to a couple National Parks around St George - Zion and Bryce but it looks like there is plenty more to see in that area.

We've never been to Lake Tahoe and I keep hearing how cool it is but don't know much about it.

Never been to Seattle area.

Any suggestions would be super appreciated.

We just did a 4/5 day roadtrip from Denver to SLC. Stayed in Boulder, Grand Junction, Aspen and last night in SLC. We rented the car one-way for next to nothing, don't know if you can do that with campervans but I don't see why not.

There are awesome opportunities for trail running (or hiking) all along the way. We ran the Mesa trail in Boulder, part of the Four Pass loop close to Aspen (https://rootsrated.com/...mping/four-pass-loop), did a quick hike up to the Hanging Lake - short but pretty (http://dayhikesneardenver.com/hanging-lake-colorado/). By far the coolest place we ran was at Dead Horse Point state park near Moab - pretty spectacular and virtually no people (http://www.discovermoab.com/stateparks.htm)

A couple of days in the Bryce/Torrey/Escalante area would be well spent. No crowds, ridiculous scenery without ever leaving the car.

Don't come to Seattle in late October. Come here in July or August. Make it a road trip around Olympic peninsula, take a ferry to Friday Harbor on San Juan island, go up to Hurricane ridge. Bring a passport and take a ferry to Victoria. But not in October!

If you fly into Denver or SLC, maybe think about going north to Jackson, WY/Grand Teton/Yellowstone. Leaves will probably be gone by mid-October, but it's such a beautiful place and there are tons of activities.

Hotels could be hard to find. Plus, it snowed there last week. Weather this time of year can be really touchy. And it is hunting season. I would wander around CO or UT instead.
