On Friday, the organizers of the Sarasota-Bradenton Triathlon Festival waived the $110 registration fee for the non-draft sprint triathlon on Oct. 8.

USAT CEO: "We wanted to remove the registration fee for the Open Sprint Triathlon in an effort to help Florida triathletes regain a sense of normalcy following the statewide impact of Hurricane Irma."

Price matters. Within a day or two there was a waiting list for the race.
