Use your lower back muscles, glutes, and hamstrings to pull your legs up. Tighten them up and your legs will be at the surface. All good swimmers do this, whether they realize it.

I don't know what you mean by "push the T" but the trick is to push your chest down, and don't over-rotate when breathing.

maybe she's born with it, maybe it's chlorine

Is there a way I'm overdoing this? I had a very good swimmer look at my stroke and he said that I have the "African child belly" going on... like I am shaped like a banana underwater.

JonnyO your video on this is one of the ones I watch just prior to going to pool. I try to have the mental imagery in my head. Seems as the other poster above mentioned I too have 'African Belly', but my legs hang a little too low when I see the video.
I think I may have to exaggerate the motion as you mention to nail this. Thanks for those videos you've made.

When your face is down in the water have a constant stream of exhale and have bubbles coming out. (You can try practicing this with a Sink Down Drill) . Be cognizant to not bury your head (fist or tennis ball distance between chin and chest) to stay taught and long.

That exhale piece is really important - I think not breathing out while one's face is in the water is the leading cause of poor swim technique.
