I used to work for a guy who used the phrase often. What it meant was "You brought up a good point that really should be addressed, but it's politically controversial or otherwise something I don't want to deal with. So I'd like to ignore you or chastise you but instead I'll utter a platitude that hopefully will satisfy you. Bring it up again and I'll have your hide."

Lots to unpack in this thread.
My experience is you NEVER get back to it. It is a management phrase that translates to "don't bother me with details that could disrupt my fantasy world story I am telling you"
