Low glycemic index refueling option
My wife is borderline hypoglycemic amd she is struggling to get food while running marathon.
I was surprized to see that maltodextrine has more or less same glycemic index than fructose.
What type of energy solutions are abailable sor such case since gels do not sit well with her.
Thanks for input

1. Fructose has a GI of ~ 25
2. Maltodextrins have a GI of ~ 110
3. While being sedentary consuming a lot of high GI food is probably ill-advised, during exercise a high GI is actually a good thing as you want glucose to get to the muscles, brain ............
4. The gut is trainable. She needs to do her long runs while consuming what she might race with.
