I should have mentioned that it should be a hill with a known elevation gain.

The cranks and the spider are quite good, the issue is with the rings. If you can replace them with something like Praxis rings, for $600 you get a very bitching PM.I don't really know anything about Praxis chainrings (only been on Shimano), are they good quality/performance?
When it's available I'm thinking about the Rotor 3D24 NG Eco and wondering if it'll be better to go with Praxis or if some other rings would be better.

You can currently get a P2M Type S with FSA cranks and Praxis rings for $578 shipped. I have a Type S with Rotor 3D+ on my tri bike and am considering the FSA for my road bike, which only sees around 10% of my use (but still nice to have power).

They are not as smooth as Shimano but pretty great for a 3rd party chainring. Had a unit with approx 3k miles on them, not a single chain drop.
Next races on the schedule: none at the moment

Hmmm... guess another option is to use my current Ultegra chainrings. DCR has blended p2m/rotor/shimano and it looked less like a Frankencrank than I would've expected. Never had a problem with my Shimano rings.
