I was downtown to see the events and feom what i gatjered it was a great race. Taylor Phinney tried a break with 1 lap to go..... rain and hail, thunder and lightning and the peleton reels him in. Sprint finish and stage 1 is in the books.

There was adequate crowd for the men's race downtown. My wife went to watch the women's race halfway through the course and said she thought the riders she saw were just some ladies out for a leisurely stroll (but they are 3 females from a team)
