When, and for how long? You can look at local rides at raba.org. I suspect you'll have to drive 15-20 miles to get to a ride.

look at those roads like Woodpecker, River, they are ok.

if you have a mtb or gravel bike bring that and go to Pocohantas Park

if you drive, check out the cap trail.

I agree with the above post:

- Pocahontas State Park is great for running and cross/mountain biking.

-I would probably go for a ride on the Capital Trail. From Chester, follow Rt 10 East to 295 North, and get off at the Rt 5 Exit East- just off the exit on your left is a nice parking area, portojohns, etc. Head East for a quieter, more scenic and longer ride or head West into downtown Richmond. If you are heading towards Richmond look for a road called Battlefield Park Rd on your left, which is a National Park road that winds through Civil War battlefield sites and forts ( it is about 7 miles out and back from the Cap Trail, with a 25mph speed limit). FYI the Cap Trail is a multi-use trail which can get a bit busy closer to town on the weekends.

Unless you just want to cruise for a bit, I'd stay off the Capital Trail. It's a great place, just not for fast riders. Too many dogs (on and off leash), joggers, a few blind turns and a 15 mph speed limit.
