I find the 20x multiplier interesting. Also, I figured LVMH would have scooped them up after acquiring Pinarello.

Triathletes not care about an overpriced, premium brand in the endurance space? From what I have read, it's a trophy purchase by the heirs of Walmart, who are surprisingly really into mountain biking. They have infused tons of money into the Arkansas cycling off-road scene in recent years.

I was in NW Arkansas to visit the gf's family last year and was really suprised at how much good singletrack they have there.

The big question is, does this mean they would buy WTC from Dalian Wanda???

Not more likely to find Rapha at Walmart than Cannondale. C-dale is owned by the largest supplier of cheap bikes to Walmart and other mass stores. Many larger companies find value in doing business with a variety of channels while keeping there origins quiet.

Yes.

There have been lots of funny stuff about this, but I think you are right. It just so happens that several members of the younger generation of the Walton family are avid cyclists. They saw Rapha was for sale, and they figured, "why not".

yes - ridiculous to even go down this speculation path and I know many will, but enough already. just because your family money came from one source, dont assume the heirs will take future investments down the same path.
