Debate here in king county( includes Seattle) about the efficacy of "safe" injection sites.

Proposal is for two sites, one in Seattle and a second in the greater county.

The one in Freeattle is not up for debate. Some other cities in the county are considering referendums to ban the second site.

Calling it a safe injection site is an oxymoron. There is nothing safe about injecting heroin. Should be called supervisedinjection sites.

What say you LR?

It's actually a great idea. Give them a space to shoot up with access to clean needles, medical care and treatment. Of course the way we are handling drug addiction now is working fantastically. The old ideas are really making an impact and helping people.

the evidence from elsewhere is solid. i'm a fan of 'harm reduction' strategies generally, especially when they're part of bigger policy changes.
