9 time Ironman, now paratriathlete, back to racing! Thank you, ST!

Dear ST community,
I posted here a couple of years ago about my friend and Austin triathlete, Laurie Allen, who was paralyzed in a fall. At the time, there was a GoFundMe-- in hopes of stem cell treatment. The stem cell treatment turned out to not be an option, but the money raised was used to help Laurie get a handcycle racing chair and racing chair for the run. This amazing woman was always determined to race again. Some of you contributed, and for that, on behalf of Laurie and the entire Austin triathlon community, thank you very much.

Yesterday, she did her first tri back at Jack's Generic Triathlon. It was a wonderful sight to see. The strength, determination, tenacity, and love was something to behold. I couldn't be more proud of Laurie, and the entire team of people who helped her achieve this goal. Hope there are many more races to come!

Cheers, and keep up the positive vibes,

Giant kudos to her and to her husband for staying with her over the past two years. A lot of guys would not have.
