JSA, what to do in Milwaukee Friday?

Visiting the Harley plant on Saturday, what to do for 5 or 6 hours on Friday? Heading up there to watch the Reds versus Brewers Saturday night.

Planning on Friday night karaoke at Dugout 54

Speaking of Chicago, how bad will the traffic be coming up from Cincinnati to Indianapolis and around 3 in the afternoon, what's the best way to go? Or are we better off waiting till 8 p.m. this will be on Thursday night.

First off, it will probably suck, set your expectations for that.

Although I haven't battled Chicago traffic (consistently) for at least 3 years, unless there is crazy construction (in which case, you're f-ed), I-294 (Tri-State tollway) is faster than going through downtown (generally awful during rush hour). I would highly recommend having an app like Waze to give you guidance. In the meantime, try playing with google maps a few nights this week leading up to it, just check the routes from Portage, IN to Milwaukee at the times you think you might pass through.

The sewage from all of southeastern WI is released just south of Milwaukee and floats straight to Chicago. So, you could go down to Chicago for a nice glass of Wisconsin poo water and a 50/50 chance of being murdered. Or:

One of my favorite spots is the Iron Horse Hotel, which is just down the street from the Harley museum. It is awesome and has one of the best outdoor bars in the area with great food.

Another favorite of ours is Hinterland. They brew their own beer and have one of the best chefs in the area.

Nomad World Pub is a blast and has Funky Fridays the second Friday of every month.

Not sure if you will have the family with you, but, if so, you need to check out Discovery World.

The Milwaukee Art Museum is incredible. Watching the "wings" open/close as sunset is cool.

Old World Third Street is filled with great little shops, art galleries, bars, and restaurants. Right downtown.

Wisconsin State Fair is going on at the fairgrounds next to Miller Park

Or go ice skating at the Petit Ice Center: http://thepettit.com/

Thank you sir. Are there any Panera's that you would recommend over others or which ones to avoid?

Dude, it was a weekend. Nobody has board meetings on weekends at Panera. Only weekdays. Everyone knows that.

Good list and I caught this late...

Journeyman Hotel is also a cool rooftop bar.

Spin, in the third ward is a fun place to play Ping Pong, hang out and have drinks, which is different than the norm.

Great brunch at Lake Park Bistro.
