cycling cap recommendations
I'm tired of dealing with gnats and other bugs in the helmet and the extra sweat dripping down. I'm thinking about buying one. Do a lot of people ride with cycling caps under their helmets? Which do you prefer? the standard or a skull cap? Is there a brand people prefer? I'm a) cheap b) have a small head.

I mainly gravel ride or mtn bike ride these days so I won't be using these for transitions.

I have a headsweats Shorty Skull cap. I also have a more traditional cap, my Skratch Labs cap, which I wear if it might be rainy to keep the rain off of my glasses a little bit. I am also cheap, won the headsweats shorty.

I find the skullcaps are not overly helpful with sweat. Mine eventually get saturated.

For sweat, what I find best is making visor's out of old cycling caps. This allows good airflow to my head for evaporation, but allows sweat to drip off the brim of the cap instead of running down my forehead.

This moves the sweat to landing on the front of my glasses which is preferred to it on the back of the lenses.
