I believe the Oakley Radar Pace was the result of a collaboration with Intel and a company from New Zealand that designed the training algorithms. I thought it was a nifty product and I'm curious to know if it will stick around.

Probably algorithms from Zephyr aka Covidien aka Medtronic. If Intel's out and probably the Oakley device is out too - no point for Intel to keep supporting a single product that's small volume anyways.

Wearable sensors has really suffered lately - many companies have tried to play in this field and a few have achieved great success whereas many others have stepped out (like Intel) or even disappeared (like Jawbone).

If I remember right, Intel also bought Recon Instruments (they make the Jet cycling HMD). Anybody still wearing theirs?

Well, the article talks about Intel focusing more on AR, which could potentially involve Oakley from industrial design and optics standpoints. In that sense, AR is still a wearable, just not any sort of fitness tracking wearable.
