I had a great experience with the mybikeshop guys, although they seem to specialize in roadies and tri bikes. Anybody done something similar for a mtn bike? Given the beating those take, it may be a little riskier to buy a mtn bike that way.

You really can't beat their prices. Their website has not changed since my first purchase in 2006.
