Pre made training plans

Cant really afford coach this year for my final 12 week block towards IM louisville.

In the past I have used Desert Dude for short course plan and I set all new PR's that year (highly recommend)

So that being said I am looking at a Cliff English plan and a Matt Fitzgerald Plan on training peaks so I am looking for reviews on the coaches in general

The Cliff English plan has lots more Volume early in the plan

Any thoughts??

Pre made training plans?! Kind of cool to see what the kid from Oregon created...

Pre-made training plans...oh, a generic training plan. Triathlete magazine always has a few.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm 8 weeks out for my first half and was hoping to use Matt Hanson but finances do not seem to allow. Have to buy a new car.

Have a 16 week taper plan created for IMOO you might be able to use.

six of one, half dozen of the other. You won't find a ton of difference in your performance as long as you select the the right hours load/diffuclty. I work for CTS, so I am biased, but I think the difference among training plans isn't that big in terms of performance. Some are a lot easier to understand, and may help you gain knowledge for the future, which may or may not be of value to you. If you decide on a coach however, the differences get a lot bigger.

Again, i'm biased, but I think an athlete is much better off paying for a coach for 1 year, being highly involved in the process and learning more about how to train themselves than purchasing training plans for several years. Some people just need to understand when to do the right workouts, others need the oversight, accountability, and extra info about certain courses that coaches can help provide.

If I could do one thing over in my tri life, it'd be to higher a coach who really liked teaching when I was just beginning to take tri seriously that would've helped me learn in a year or two what ended up taking 5+

I've had good experiences with several of the D3 plans. They're incredibly active with support on line if you have questions along the way.
