Carbon Rim Questions
Hi all, I'm getting my first set of carbon rims and have a few questions.

1) What's the difference between Swissstop's Black Prince Flash Pro and Flash Evo? I can't seem to find anything definitive anywhere.

2)How do you put clinchers on without possibly cracking the carbon rim? I'm afraid if the tires are tight and I use a lever I might crack the rim/brake track.

Thanks!

1) The Evo version of the Swissstop pads are a lower profile pad to use where there are clearance issues. Basically the EVO pads are not as deep as the PRO pads and you'll have lower life but you will get more clearance. The EVO also have a different groove pattern than the PRO pads do. Have a look:

Thanks! Do you think I'll have any clearance issues with standard brakes?

No idea. It all depends on what type of caliper you have and the width of the rims you are using.

You aren't going to crack the rim with plastic tire levers.

You shouldn't be using tyre levers to put a tire on. Use talc and start at the opposite section of the tire that is remaining unseated. Push the tyre down into the rim bed, working your way around the rim till you get to the last remaining section and pop it over the rim with your thumbs

Sometimes the tires are too tight to just use your hands. I use tire levers all the time because it is faster.

Don't waste your money on Swissstop pads. Best brake pads at a fraction of the cost.

Don't use tyre levers to put tyres on unless you want punctures...
