I have been looking online around what to do about pedal maintenance. (Look/Shimano). My pedals spin freely....as in all the way around multiple times with little resistance. While I think this would be good for reducing friction, there also appears to be some play in the pedals now and I get some vibration at low speeds. My LBS is telling me to tear them apart and re-grease them. Question - adding grease would slow the rotation down and I would think that would require additional power to turn the pedal. Miniscule...probably.....but I am old and do everything I can to minimize friction/power loss. Any experts out there on this topic?

Read friction facts test for pedal friction.
Normally shimano pedals go forever unless they are the super budget ones.
If you have the shimano tool the preload is adjustable.

I have the friction facts reports but don't recall seeing anything about rebuilding or maintenance of pedals. Is there something in the reports I am missing? (Not asking you to tell me what they say...but if there is, I will go look at them again).
