One of the last of the old school goons of WHA and NHL fame with the Edmonton Oilers passed away today of pancreatic cancer. Tough as nails and a big reason why The Great One, Kurri and Coffey were able to work the magic they did with the Oilers in the 80s. No Gordie Howe, but he never claimed to be anything other than he was. Rest in Peace.

But he had nothing to do with Gretzky ripping the league a new one in the 80s. Nothing whatsoever.
How does Danny Hart sit down with balls that big?

He was scary tough, there were very few guys back then who were as big and strong as he was. Could easily tie guys up and switch hands, which meant he rarely lost. RIP.

Right. Marty McSorley.
Also had nothing to do with Gretzky's success.
Here's Bill McCreary Jr. destroying Wayne. Count how many guys go after him. You know how many guys fought him later in the game? None.
Oh, and the myth that he never played another game in the NHL after that hit? Pure BS. He played in 12 NHL games. That hit was in game #2 of his career.
