Guess the (Commercial) Airliner Model
Out and about early this morning doing some red cell security tests of the aircraft cabin security search personnel. Decided to take a couple of pics of airliner flight decks.

Guess the airliner model. Bonus points (including free use of the ampersand in all your posts for a month ;-) if you can guess the "dash-" type within the model.

Speaking of Airbus, went to Victoria BC in April and had to jump over to Vic from YVR and back again in a Q400, had never flown in an A320 til the return from YVR to YEG. Was very surprised to find the Q400 was considerably quieter.

We all call the Airbus "Scarebus." Been doing that for years. ;-)

Not a criticism of it, really, because I personally like the Airbuses over the Boeings.

Sure, that'd be great. Yeah, I still live nearby and I have a ramp (AOA, or "aircraft operations area") approved company car, so I just go through one of the access gates and park by one of the jetbridges at either terminal. No problem at all.

OT: I was at DTW earlier this morning. On the way in, I asked my daughter if she remembered to take her pocket knife from her purse. "Yeeessss!!"

Guess whose purse got tagged at the scanner. Yup.

Luckily, I was still there waiting for her to make it through security, so she didn't lose it.

Oh, that's classic! Our DTW TSA contingent is extremely avid about such things, by the way. ;-)

Heads up, you guys: DHS announced yesterday a set of (very) enhanced screening processes for all electronic devices larger than a tablet. I believe it's on their website. One of my security consultant friends clued me in on it yesterday morning, about six hours before the DHS release.

Stand by for more aggravation on your journey through a TSA airport security checkpoint.

I have a security consultant here for a couple of days (ex-executive TSA administrator) and we put him up at that Radisson right down the street from you, but he goes over to the Four Points for his dinners. He called the Radisson "sketchy." Hey; I didn't make the travel arrangements. LOL!

It looks like a MD-11 cockpit. I'll guess its the MD-11F, simply coz' who still carried cattle on MD11s. A blast from the past!

It has a personal connection for me - In 1984, as a little kid, this was the bird in which I had my first trans-Atlantic flight.

Remember - It's important to be comfortable in your own skin... because it turns out society frowns on wearing other people's
