Interviewed for a job on 6/2/17. Met with about 7 people and I thought all the interviews went really well. I had lunch with the hiring manager the day prior to the interview and also met with him last on interview day. I got good feedback from him and left feeling like I had a very good chance at landing it. I sent thank you follow up e-mails to everyone I met with and received replies (all favorable) from about half of them. I had a contact within the department that I would be working in that tipped me to the posting as soon as it hit. He fast tracked my resume so I was in the door interviewing within 3 days of the posting so I am sure that I was extremely early in the interview process.
A week passed with no contact (by them or me). I waited until the next Thursday (so 9 business days) and sent a follow up e-mail to the HR Director that I interviewed with. She thanked me for my follow up and said she hoped to get back to me within a few days. I waited a couple of days and then sent a text to my inside contact to see if he knew anything. He said he would check it out and let me know. I have not heard anything back from him as of today. So it has now been about 2.5 weeks...
I REALLY want this job as I feel it is a perfect fit for my skill set and experience, but I have another opportunity I am stalling on because I would prefer this one. 2.5 weeks seems long to me...should I assume I didn't get it or is 2.5 weeks not really that long? I am currently stably employed so it's not do or die either way...
