Washingtonians: Lake Padden roll call

Who is joining me in Bellingham next weekend (Sat 6/24)? Classic course, hard bike and run, weather looks perfect. I'm excited. Who's in?

Any run that doesn't include pooping in someone's front yard is a win.

One of my favorite races, only qualm is the bumpy pavement around some parts of Samish. Won't be able to make it this year (and am exceptionally jealous :), but look forward to trying to put everything together next year!

A bit of a drive for us. Maybe next year if we manage to move to Bellingham.

Yeah, some parts aren't great. No potholes or anything, just heavy chip. If the loop around the lake were smooth pristine asphalt I'll bet it could be at least a minute faster.

Lots of IT jobs here, more and more tech companies every day. Good luck!

That's likely, given that this will be only my third triathlon since then!

I'm in! I love Padden and it's only 2 miles from my house! See you there.

Ah, great, thanks for reviving this thread! This is the only race I can ride to, which I love; nice little warmup and no parking hassles. Can't wait!

Are you coming out for the Lake Whatcom tri in a few weeks as well? That one is super fun.

Yep - did Whatcom last year and loved it. Also doing the Whidbey and Vancouver BC sprints. The Vancouver course is beautiful - all around Stanley Park.

Haven't done that race since... Well, the years started in 19xx... Before they routed up the "stair steps" (though I did that as part of a cycling stage race several times). Love the area. Should be a good race, great weather.
