Check out the Boyd Altamount Lites...less than 1000 grams for the set for about the money you are looking to spend. The folks at Boyd offer great customer service to boot.

Less than 1000 grams? No way.

I think the rim "ONLY" weight is 970g. Complete set would be well north of 1000g. And while I'm at, why not something like the Reynolds Attack, Assault, or 46 Aero. I believe all those are 1500g or less, or thereabouts. Reasonably wide, and reasonably aero too. Profile Design 38 TwentyFour too.

I wanna go fast!

AX Lightness makes an 850g wheelset; they're not the only ones, just the one I remembered off the top of my head. ...To the point they note putting stickers on adds 25g.

"Bitex RAR12 rear hub and the equivalent front laced to Pacenti SL23"

The Pacenti SL23 rim (generation 1) was notorious for cracks developing around the nipples at tensions well below the maximum permissible.

I don't know about the second generation rims; I tend not to give a company my money again if they bring such a faulty product to market. HED Ardennes Plus rim have been flawless laced up triplet.

Those are tubulars. They're also about $2500 more than the OP wanted to spend. I doubt you'll find many sub-1000 gram clincher wheelsets, and if you can find one, it won't cost less than $700.

Yes. Big difference between tubulars and/or high-end boutique wheels.
