This one lands squarely in my era of TV, back when there were only the three networks. I would make sure that my homework was done so that I could watch Batman uninterrupted. And I had every Batman hood, cape, model (car, boat, copter...you name it) that I could lay my hands on.
I was too young back then to understand the uses of "camp" in a TV series, but that really made the series all the more enjoyable once I did come to realize just what West's deadpan delivery and the way in which the shows were written were all about.
Though he ended up typecast by the part, and resented it for some years, he later came to embrace the fact of his Batman-hood, if the below apparently genuine phone listings of his are any indication: :-)
