"Help us send President Bush a message.
Boycott McDonald's for one day on December 3, 2005."
I hope they let us know how that works out for 'em.

I am just glad to see someone is actually doing something about this.

I've done my part. I've boycotted McD's for seven or eight years now. It's more about their contribution to obesity & related health problems than softwood lumber though.

Saw an article on this in the paper a few days back, it's been created by a couple of half-wit teenagers from BC, I believe.
These nimrods apparently don't realize that McDonalds Canada is a separate operating unit, using a franchisee system, people from the local community that own and work at McDonalds.
While I don't typically eat at Mickey D's, I'll be making a point of eating there on December 3rd.

Actually, the "half-wit teenagers" are actually two young kids (i think they are 10 years old). However, they have the "support of their parents" so I'm sure there is someone else behind this. On their webpage, they do try to answer the comment about franchises being Canadian owned (apparently only about 60%) and that McDonalds doesn't sell wood. Their view is that McDonalds is an international symbol of US business so they were the best to target. Funny thing is, if this thing works, they dont think one day will make a significant impact since its just one day and they "makesbillions of dollars every day". Good on them for trying but totally misguided, IMHO.
