I know, always use a disc, right?
I have a unique bike course tomorrow in a sprint distance tri.
The bike is a 5km loop we do 4 times, and it has two 180 degree turnarounds per lap, and about five 90 degree turns per lap. Two of the 90 degree turns are followed by short uphills.
Kind of like a crit course! I did it last year with a set of HED Jet 6's and all went well. I do have a Zipp wheelset, super9 and 808 front (clinchers) that I otherwise use for racing..
Is a disc more of a hinderance on this type of course due to extra weight and possible flex? Not that the super9 is flexy...
Maybe splitting hairs, but last year in the same race, I think second through forth place were only separated by about 10 seconds. Interval rolling start, so you don't really get to pace off your competitors.
Thx!
