Tornado? What's a Tornado...

17 second clip from Friday afternoon about 100 miles from here, we're normally in the same storm line. Stuff brews up in the Ya Ha Tinda (Red Deer River valley) NE of Banff townsite and then out on to the prairies. Usually not this extreme though, as indicated by the dude too dumb to run...

Was he dumb if he lived? I say he YOLO'd the shit out of that tornado!

Seriously though, that's pretty awesome. Mother Nature has some incredible tricks up her sleeves, doesn't always turn out super for us humans but the power of some of these natural phenomena is mind boggling.

On takeoff, that is the loudest airplane ever! I flew F-4's and F-111's, but there's nothing like the noise of a Tornado taking off when you're standing at the departure end of the runway.

sound of freedom--or socialism i guess?

anyone or any platform that gives good CAS (or even BAI) has got my vote!

a few years back i was with some folks doing some pre-deployment shenanigans out at White Sands and some Luftwaffe F4's flew over very low and very loud. A bit of a double take, but good to see those big ugly bad ass birds still in the air.

I'm a "survivor" of the April 4th 1974 supercell outbreak, specifically the Monticello Indiana tornado. That one is pretty and well formed, but from a storm stand point it isn't even in the class.
