Another case for making self driving cars mandatory. Some people have no business being in control of a 4 ton vehicle.

What are the odds nothing happens to this driver but a slap on the wrist. If that?

she only had road rash? holy fuck. if i only had road rash, i would have literally strangled her. no way in hell she gets a word in to the cops. they would definitely need 2 ambulances.

I am not trying to minimize what happened , goodness that road rash looks terrible, but 60 feet isn't THAT bad for being dragged. If you crash going 25 mph you will possibly slide that far.

None of that excuses the lack of awareness by the driver.

For those who didn't get to read all the various comments and replies - it turns out that this driver (as usual) had two prior DUIs, one of which was a hit and run. She was obviously trying to get away which explains her horrible conduct in continuing on from the scene. She will probably get her license suspended for six months and a $3000 fine or some other obscene sentence. I just hope this poor woman is awarded every dime this animal has or ever will have in the slam dunk civil suit.

WTF is she doing with a license after a hit and run.

That is amongst the most heinous motoring crimes.

Surely a lengthy ban and maybe jail time beckons and a decent civil suit.

It's about time there was a global safe cycling get day organised.

All around the world cyclists have become roadkill with very little protection from police.

Any excuse and the look to absolve the driver from blame see below..
